I had been here years ago, and it was worthit then. Now, it is even more appealing. The place looks brand new, but the great good did not change. I have tried all of Marshfield's restaurants and Anthonys is on top as far as Pizzerias go. The food is delicious and fresh, and the service is on par as well. Pan pizza lovers know this is the one at first bite. Try the Maranello Pizza or a Ranchy Chicken calzone. Your wallet will be pleased here too! EXCELLENT! The first time I visited Anthony's was 1977, I was 16 years old. I was working at Davenport's Dry Cleaners nearby and my buddy and I went to Anthony's for lunch and he told me to try the Steak, Egg and Cheese Sub with a super light dash of salt. Well one bite of this sub and I was hooked. No more McDonald's or Burger King for me. The other thing is personal service, at Anthony's they are always friendly there. I moved away 10 years ago but still go back every year and now my 19 year old son loves them too. This year was no different, although they do not know me anymore, they still give great service and the Worlds Best Steak, Egg and Cheese Sub. Go ahead and try one.
Review submitted on October 5th, 2007 by Tom – from Marshfield Dismal i figured with a name like anthony's, i would be able to get good pizza and subs here... sadly i was mistaken. i gave this place two tries. most recently, the steak & cheese i ordered was served on a cheap, almost stale roll. it was like a hot dog roll; really disappointing. the steak & toppings weren't much better. the pizza crust was also gross; hard, tasteless crust, and the cheese & sauce were bland. this place needs people who know how to make this kind of food, because it is below par. Not only do they have the best pizza and subs anywhere in town, but Anthony's is also run by a great family. To me, Anthony's is a true part of the town's soul. I am a pizza fanatic and a lover of subs. I like to try them all but I always end up back in Anthony's. They have never forgotten that great food, good value, and sincere customer relations are the key to success. You will find all three at Anthony's and you will walk away very satisfied... I have lived in Marsheld most of my life, and recently moved out, but never SKIP out when I visit, from getting a bufallo pizza at ANTHONYS. The recipe they use has never changed, and the taste says it all. I recently had a calzone there and I have to say it is top shelf as well. Plus, the family works hard to make sure you walk away satisfied. I would not hesitate to order delivery from them, if only I still lived in delivery range!!! Deli sandwiches made with the saem cold cuts the guy down the street is selling have a tendency to do that. Nothing that is actually special, it's not bad, but certainly available a million other places. The pizza is also average, not as good as many other places. This is food for people who are looking for something without going out of their way as opposed to looking for something good. I like to try all the sub/pizza places in town, and Anthony's is at the bottem end. Pizza was gross; cheese was blah, sauce was worse, and the crust was like frozen pizza crust. The steak & cheese was just as bad. Poor quality food - and it shows. When you try to scrimp by using cheap ingredients, the food suffers. Not sure who owns it; but they need a change fast.... will never eat there again. My Sister lives in Colorado and there food isnt good there and when she came home for a vacation One of her Many "Must eating places" was Anthonys! she said that there greek saled with grilled chicken is soo GOOD... I do not typically go to this site. However, I have eaten at many places throughout town. Anthony's... well, I've been getting quick fixes for my hunger pangs there for over ten years. Steak and Cheese subs, veal, meatballs, whatever, it generally hits the spot when I have not got time to bother cooking. I haven't read any other reviews, but I don't need to. I trust my palette in this case. After years of scarfing at delis throughout New York City, I can tell you that Anthony's rates just as well as any in its class. My personal rating?
