Restaurant reviews for The Boat House Pub
|
Review submitted on August 3rd, 2010 by Mack from Marshfield The Ocean Deck The Ocean Deck, on the site of the old Boat House, is a clean, pleasant, and reasonably priced new restaurant. I've been there twice and have recommended it to friends. The food is very good and the service is quick. The bar is lively, with alert, attentive bartenders. One negative, and a minor one, is that the wait staff in the dining room is a bit overzealous and checks on you every five minutes with, "how is everything?" This is, I suppose, better than being ignored. Review submitted on July 6th, 2010 anonymously from Pembroke Now the Ocean Deck The former Boat House is now the Ocean Deck and I've been there. It's kind of bar food but the outside deck is nice. I'm a foodie so I prefer more upscale food like scallops (not fried) and risotto. It's not a bad place at all and I would go again but more for drinks and an appetizer on the deck. Review submitted on July 20th, 2008 anonymously from Marshfield, MA Great location...terrible experience We live in Marshfield and eat out at most of the good restaurants in the area. We were on our way to Venus II which we love and eat at frequently when we saw the sign for the Boathouse Pub. We are all about discovering new places so we made the decision to go here instead. BAD DECISION. First, we were the only people there except for a small table of drinkers sitting on the outside patio listening to bad karioke sung by the hired musicians that night. The service was not good and not very friendly. There were flies everywhere because the doors where open to the patio. The menu is not good and very basic...burgers, fish and chips and sandwiches. We almost got up and left before ordering but we were hungry and tired so we just ordered. The burgers came with no lettuce or tomato and the fries were soggy. If a restaurant can't even get a burger right, they are in trouble. I am not going back. The location is terrific.. right next to Green Harbor Marina so maybe someday a good restaurant will open there. |
